HBX Group, a leading B2B travel technology marketplace connecting travel distributors and hotel partners worldwide, has partnered with Bioscore, owner and developer of the BIOSCORE Certification Scheme for tourist accommodation and ESG management provider specialised in the tourism sector.
The collaboration forms part of the HBX Group Sustainable Certified Hotels Programme, an initiative designed to increase the adoption and visibility of recognised sustainability certifications across the HBX Group hotel portfolio and support hotels on their certification journey.
Through this collaboration, hotels interested in sustainability certification can access practical guidance, expert support and independent verification throughout the certification process, helping them better understand requirements and take the next step in their sustainability journey.

What is the BIOSCORE Certification Scheme?
It is the scheme for tourist accommodation owned and developed by Bioscore. It sets out the applicable requirements, methodology and assessment criteria. Independent certification bodies assess hotels and make certification decisions.
Does submitting this form mean our hotel will be certified?
No. The form starts a conversation about the requirements and process. A certificate is awarded only after an independent certification body has completed its assessment and made a positive decision.
Who carries out the independent verification?
An independent certification body performs the assessment and makes the certification decision. Verification is carried out by an independent third-party organisation such as Bureau Veritas, TÜV Rheinland or OCA Global. The body assigned to your process and any relevant accreditation details will be confirmed for your case.
What can we manage in Bioscore Data Platform?
The platform enables you to manage sustainability data, calculate and monitor Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions and your water footprint, record consumption, manage ESG indicators, and centralise evidence and documentation.
What happens after I request information?

The HBX Group x Bioscore partnership forms part of the HBX Group Sustainable Certified Hotels Programme, which aims to increase the adoption and visibility of recognised sustainability certifications across the HBX Group hotel portfolio.
Is Bioscore recognised within internationally recognised sustainability frameworks?
BIOSCORE certification is recognised as a credential within Swisstainable and listed among the certifications considered for GHA DISCOVERY’s Green Collection. It also appears in Travalyst’s list of accommodation schemes that self-declare compliance with ECGT requirements. Participation in each programme depends on its criteria, the certification level achieved and any required validation.
Why is sustainability certification becoming increasingly relevant?
Travellers, businesses and regulators are placing increasing importance on sustainability, transparency and credible environmental claims. In addition, a new European Union (EU) directive aimed at preventing greenwashing, the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (ECGT), applied from 27 September 2026 is expected to increase scrutiny of environmental and sustainability-related claims. Businesses will increasingly need to support environmental claims with clear, credible and verifiable evidence.
