1. How can I get Bioscore Certification for my facility?
To obtain Bioscore Certification for your facility, the first step is to contact our team, and we will guide you through the initial assessment process, in which we will analyze your facility’s current sustainability practices and provide you with a detailed diagnosis. If your facility scores less than 50% in the assessment, we will provide you with a customized action plan to improve your practices in key areas. Here, we will accompany you for 2 to 6 months, depending on the case, where our sustainability team will advise the accommodation on sustainability issues, provide the necessary material and help you to set short-term objectives that will enable the accommodation to achieve certification.
Is it possible to obtain Bioscore Certification for non-hotel companies?
Yes, it applies to all tourist establishments.
Is Bioscore Accommodation certification valid for any type of accommodation?
Bioscore certification is valid for hotels, hotel chains, campsites, rural houses and aparthotels.
4. Do I need to install a program or software to start the Bioscore Certification process?
No, you do not need to install any programs or software to start the Bioscore Certification process, as our platform is completely designed to work online. This means that you can access all of our tools and resources through a web browser, which makes the process much easier. This online approach not only simplifies access and use of our tools, but also allows you to work on your facility’s sustainability from anywhere, anytime, ensuring a seamless and accessible experience at all times.
5. I don't remember my username/password, how do I fix it?
In case you do not remember your password, you must enter the option “Forgot your password?” and you will be able to set a new one by following the steps indicated.
6. How do I access the Bioscore Certification form?
Once you access the Bioscore platform, you will find a menu on the left side with the different actions. You will find a medal icon with the name “Certifications”, another menu will open where you can see the certification services. Click on “Bioscore” and you will see the forms of your accommodations. To edit, click on the button with the “pencil” icon.
7. How much does the certification process cost, and are there any additional costs during the process?
The cost of the Bioscore certification process varies according to the type of facility, number of facilities and complexity of the project. Upon registration, you will receive a detailed quote that will include the base cost of certification and any additional services you may need, such as consulting or specific audits.
8. What is the international recognition of Bioscore certification?
The Bioscore Sustainability Certification standard is recognized by Travalyst and GHA (Global Hotel Alliance), Swisstainable among others.
The certification has its highest visibility in major OTAs and TTOOs such as Booking.com and group companies, Destinia, OnTheBeach, Google Travel, Greenline Hotels, etc.
9. What differentiates Bioscore from other sustainability certifications in the market and is it possible to have more than one sustainability certification?
Yes, it is possible to have more than one certification to maximize the visibility of your efforts. In general, you can be guided by the scope (ESG) of the certification, the market in which it is most recognized, the monitoring it provides to the host and the communication tools it makes available.
Bioscore certifications evaluate the triple ESG impact, provide support and monitoring for continuous improvement through reports and work plans.
Bioscore certifications are conducted online, with auditing based on documentary evidence, so that each facility can progress at its own pace with the help of an assigned and dedicated consultant.

10. What are the benefits of sustainability for facilities beyond certification?
Many benefits affect hotel operations in virtually all departments, such as cost reduction through reduced consumption and more efficient resource management. Working on sustainability and obtaining a certification improves the image and reputation of the establishment, increases ADR +5% and increases customer satisfaction +15%(according to Mabrian report November 2023 and Booking.com study).
11. Once I have obtained the Bioscore Certification, how can I make it known?
Once the establishment is certified, it obtains a communication kit so that it can communicate it to all its stakeholders, at the facilities, on the website, social networks, newsletter, etc.
On the other hand, visibility in the different OTAs and TTOOs also helps in positioning and a tourist can make his next booking by choosing by sustainability criteria and filters.
12. What is the process to be carried out to appear in OTAs and TTOOs?
At Bioscore we adapt to the way each “house” wants to work. For this reason, to certain OTAs and groups we pass directly the certification periodically (OnTheBeach, Destinia, Google), some need to pass through external tools (Booking.com) and others with direct contracting can be informed directly by the establishments.
13. What does your alliance with Booking.com and Google Travel mean for Bioscore?
It maximizes the visibility of a facility’s efforts to obtain sustainability certification, as these are possibly the platforms with the most global views.
14. Are there any grants or subsidies for companies seeking Bioscore certification?
Bioscore has important agreements at territorial level, which allows negotiated prices, exclusive services and maximum visibility. Ask us if we have agreements in place in your area!
Since the summer of 2024 and currently the Bioscore Sustainability Certification is subsidized by the chambers of commerce of Palamós and Girona, in Catalonia.
Depending on the Autonomous Community you belong to, there may be other general or specific subsidies/aid, so do not hesitate to contact us to find out more. For example, in Catalonia, the Bioscore certification entitles you to a 100% bonus of the affiliation fees to certain brands (such as MICE, holiday tourism, medical…).
15. What happens in case of renewal and non-renewal of the Bioscore Certification?
Renewals are annual.
