PRESS RELEASE

Palacio de Congresos Olympic, first MICE center in Catalonia to obtain the Bioscore Tourism Business Certification with restoration

The Olympic Conference Center – Evenia Hotels becomes the first tourism organization in Catalonia to obtain the Bioscore Tourism Business Certification with catering, an international recognition that accredits its commitment to sustainability, efficiency in resource management and corporate social responsibility.

Developed by Bioscore Sustainability, this third-party verified certification allows tourism companies to integrate sustainability in a strategic manner, providing evidence of their responsible performance and strengthening their corporate reputation. The model evaluates seven key areas: general compliance, emissions, energy, water, waste, catering and corporate social responsibility, ensuring transparency, traceability and continuous improvement.

Inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (UN) and the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the certification positions tourism organizations as responsible and competitive players, aligned with international best practices in sustainability.

Located in the heart of the Costa Brava, in Lloret de Mar, the Olympic Conference Center enjoys a strategic location: in a quiet area and just a few meters from the town center and the beach. It is part of the Evenia Olympic Resort, with more than 30,000 m² of space and large landscaped areas. The venue has more than 4,000 m² of space for events, with rooms of different capacities (from 35 m² to 833 m²) and an auditorium for 770 people, in addition to offering comprehensive catering services, restaurants and complementary activities.

For his part, Francesc Melero, General Manager of Evenia Olympic Resort, stressed that “this milestone is part of Evenia Hotels’ global sustainability strategy, which promotes continuous improvement in all our establishments to minimize environmental impact and promote a more responsible tourism model”.

The company congratulates the entire Evenia Hotels team, and especially Montserrat Rocaginé, the technician responsible for the certification process, for her vision, effort and commitment.

This achievement consolidates the Olympic Convention Center as a benchmark for sustainable business tourism in Catalonia and Spain.
