Bioscore Sustainability certifications, recognized by Huella Zero Costa del Sol
Bioscore Sustainability has been recognized by Huella Zero Costa del Sol as a certifying body whose certifications meet the criteria established by this initiative promoted by Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol.
As part of the program, the following have been added as recognized certifications Bioscore Certification for Tourist Accommodation, Bioscore Restaurant Certification , and Bioscore Tourism Business Certification, expanding the range of certification schemes available to organizations that wish to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability.
This initiative recognizes a certification model based on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria, supported by independent evaluation processes and third-party audits, which allow tourism companies to demonstrate their sustainability performance in an objective, verifiable, and transparent manner.
Three certifications recognized by Huella Zero Costa del Sol
– Bioscore Certification for Tourist Accommodations
Designed for hotels, vacation rentals, tourist accommodations, campgrounds, and rural lodgings, this certification evaluates sustainability performance through a 100% online process based on ESG criteria. The standard includes more than 250 indicators across six assessment areas: emissions, energy, water, waste, food service, and corporate social responsibility. The certification process includes a technical evaluation and an independent audit conducted by a third-party organization, ensuring the objectivity, impartiality, and reliability of the results.
– Bioscore Restaurant Certification
Developed specifically for the restaurant industry, this certification evaluates the sustainability of establishments from a comprehensive perspective, incorporating environmental, social, and governance criteria. The process analyzes performance across seven areas—overall, emissions, energy, water, waste, culinary offerings, and corporate social responsibility—and concludes with an independent third-party audit, ensuring impartiality and credibility.
– Bioscore Tourism Business Certification
Designed for non-hotel tourism businesses, this certification provides objective and verifiable proof of the implementation of sustainable practices in areas such as environmental management, efficient use of resources, waste management, social responsibility, and governance. Like all other Bioscore certifications, the process includes an independent third-party audit, thereby enhancing transparency and trust in the certification process.

The inclusion of these certifications in the Huella Zero Costa del Sol program makes it easier for interested organizations to identify certification schemes aligned with the initiative’s requirements and provides the tourism sector with tools to evaluate and validate sustainability performance using objective methodologies, independent verification processes, and standardized criteria.
