  • The hotel management company has achieved an average rating of A for its entire portfolio of hotels according to the Bioscore evaluation system
  • This certification thus reinforces the management company’s commitment to sustainability and responsible management in Spain’s tourism sector

Madrid, March 2026.

ACHM Hotels by Marriott has earned Bioscore sustainability certification across its entire hotel portfolio in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The leading hotel management company in Southern Europe, chaired by Antonio Catalán, thus reinforces its commitment to sustainability and responsible management in the tourism sector, achieving an average grade of A in the Bioscore evaluation system. Bioscore, a company that measures organizations’ performance against ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria , analyzes key sustainability indicators such as CO₂ emissions, energy consumption, water resource management, waste, responsible food service, and social responsibility policies. These parameters allow for an objective assessment of the hotels’ environmental and social impact, as well as their governance practices.

As part of its sustainability strategy, all ACHM hotels use Marriott International’s corporate platform—MESH (Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub)—as a centralized tool for recording and monitoring energy and water consumption, food waste, and all sustainability initiatives. This platform enables continuous monitoring of environmental indicators and facilitates decision-making aimed at improving efficiency. It also allows for the calculation of each property’s carbon and water footprints, among other indicators.

In the areas of procurement and responsible operations, hotels implement various measures aimed at reducing their environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices. Among these measures is the use of eco-certified suppliers, with an emphasis on sourcing from local suppliers to reduce emissions.

In addition, all hotels adhere to Marriott International’s corporate policies on training, the environment, and corporate social responsibility, ensuring common standards in governance, regulatory compliance, and best practices.

With this certification, ACHM Hotels by Marriott continues to make progress on its roadmap toward an increasingly responsible hotel management model, aligned with the environmental and social challenges facing the tourism sector. The company thus reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement, innovation in sustainability, and making a positive impact on the destinations where it operates.
